Company History
Apsley Engineering (now Apsley Precision Engineering Ltd) was established in 1984 by Graham Aymes BSc, CEng, MIMechE, following a successful career with the British government working as a lead design engineer at Enfield Small Arms Factory at the onset of the SA80 project. Career progression then lead to the position of Deputy Head of Engineering at the Chemical Defence Establishment (DSTL) at Porton Down in Wiltshire.
With a background in design and production engineering, Graham swiftly secured a number of Defence contracts with customers who remain with us today. With the advent of CNC machining and the company’s ability to maintain high levels of precision, quality and on-time delivery, the business prospered. Apsleys customer base grew steadily which required the company to relocate to its current 12000 sq ft premises at High Post near Salisbury.
In 2010 the company changed name from Apsley Engineering to Apsley Precision Engineering Ltd and secured an ISO 9001 certification. A dedication to quality and customer service has been the key to steady growth and continuing success. The company now specialises in manufacturing CNC machined, high precision components for a range of industries. In addition the company offer small batch runs, prototyping services and the manufacture of tooling and fixtures.
A policy of reinvestment enables the company to remain flexible enough to manufacture from a full range of materials and in variety of sizes. There is no margin for error with high value, time-dependant and critical precision engineering projects. They have to be right, first time. With this philosophy Apsley Precision Engineering Ltd has built a reputation for meeting and exceeding market demands. The company’s ability to engineer products to individual requirements is also backed by the capacity to manufacture in quantities from one-offs to extended production runs.
